With a heritage stretching back almost 30 years, and more than 13 years of events at its current home, Lovejoys is one of the best-loved fixtures on the London trans scene.

T-girls, admirers, couples and friends mix and mingle in a large private house in Sutton, with a bar, a comfortable lounge and the kind of relaxed, friendly atmosphere that keeps people coming back.

When and where

Second and last Wednesday of every month (no events in August), 1pm–10pm
A private house in Sutton, about 15 minutes’ walk from Sutton station, with trains from Victoria, London Bridge and Thameslink
No parking on site, but plenty of free side streets nearby. Sutton is inside the ULEZ zone

Entry: £30 for T-girls, £40 for male admirers. Cash only
Refreshments included in the price
A buffet from 2pm to 6pm, then hot food from 6pm to 8pm
A reception area, bar, cloakroom and lounge
Private changing rooms where you can get ready and leave your things

Happy Wednesday at Lovejoys is built exactly for that — T-girls only, 11am till 2pm, with private changing rooms, an optional make-up service and a team who’ve guided plenty of first-timers through it. Your entry also covers the main Lovejoys event from 1pm, so you’re settled in long before the room fills up. Minutes from Sutton station.
