Le Boudoir has spent years building a reputation as the most selective lifestyle club in London — the one with the vetting, the dress code and the crowd everyone mentions afterwards. It also has a reputation for being harder to get into than it is to enjoy once you’re there.
We went through several dozen member accounts from late 2025 through 2026 — forum write-ups, first-visit reports and the club’s own published rules — to work out what actually happens on the night. Here’s what holds up.
Getting In: Membership, Vetting and ID
You cannot turn up at Le Boudoir. This is the thing most people get wrong.
Registration is free and happens on the club’s own platform. You submit your details and a photograph — and the photo is the part that matters. Le Boudoir asks you to hold it up alongside a piece of paper with your name and the date, which weeds out catfish accounts and stolen pictures. Most applicants report approval within a day or two.
What the vetting is really for is disputed. The club calls it identity verification, and regulars agree, noting that the people refused are usually the ones who ignored the instructions. Others believe looks are a factor, and rejections do happen without explanation. The criteria aren’t published — but a smart, clear application photo gets approved and a scruffy one often doesn’t.
Once approved you buy a ticket, and only then do you receive the venue address. You must be 21 or over and bring a photographic ID — a clear photo on your phone is accepted. No ID, no entry.
There’s also an optional paid tier, LB Premium, unlocking messaging and the “who’s going” list. You don’t need it to attend, and it auto-renews.
Where It Is and How to Get There
The venue sits in East London, a short walk from Aldgate East, with Liverpool Street and Tower Bridge minutes away — a proper city-centre location rather than the industrial estate a lot of clubs end up on, and there are plenty of hotels within walking distance if you’re travelling in.
The building is a converted former medical dispensary that operates as an ordinary bar by day, with no signage announcing what it becomes at night. The club doesn’t publish the address anywhere and asks you not to trust addresses you find online — it arrives with your ticket confirmation.
Events and Theme Nights: Which One to Pick
Le Boudoir doesn’t run one club night on repeat. It runs named events, and which one you book changes the experience more than anything else on this page — including the price, which varies by event.
Thursdays are the hotwife and greedy girl nights, built around one woman being the centre of attention. Single men attend in far greater numbers; the ratio can run as high as 4:1. If that’s the fantasy, this is the night. If it isn’t, avoid it. These are also the shortest events, finishing at 10.30pm. Fridays are mixed, with single men in managed numbers, under names like “The More The Merrier” and “Rapture”. Members generally describe a good balance and a relaxed crowd.
Saturdays are predominantly couples and single women, no single men. Busiest, priciest, and the night most first-time couples enjoy most.
Themes are a different beast to the American scene — less costume, more mood. Expect lingerie and classy club-wear rather than western or glow nights. The exception is colour and era parties: white parties, gold parties, Gatsby nights, where the theme becomes part of the dress code. The club also runs newbie nights with guided tours, which is the gentlest way in.

Budget for the extras. There’s a booking fee of roughly £8, and lockers need a £20 cash deposit — bring an actual note — refunded when you return the key.
The bar is where the real cost sits. Despite what you may read elsewhere, Le Boudoir is not BYOB: the club forbids bringing your own alcohol and the venues have licensed bars. Expect around £15 for a cocktail and £3 for bottled water.
Tickets are non-refundable. Transfers are possible more than two hours before your event, within a 60-day window, for a £30 admin fee.
The Dress Code, and Why People Get Turned Away
Le Boudoir’s dress code is the strictest in London and the club is unapologetic about it. Read it before you book — a rejected outfit means a rejected ticket, and no refund.
Women have it easy: a sexy dress with good shoes or boots, or dress down to lingerie. Most travel in normal clothes and change on arrival, which the club is fine with.
Men are where admission actually gets refused. Formal trousers or dark jeans — nothing bleached, ripped, patched or paint-splattered. A buttoned collared shirt, a plain black or navy polo, an all-black tee or a knitted jumper. Dress shoes, or all-black trainers at a minimum. Grooming counts too: the club states outright that untidy hair or an unkempt beard can get you turned away. The definite no list is shorts, graphic tees, vests, hoodies, sweatshirts, sportswear, white trainers of any price, work boots, sandals and hats.
One caveat. Plenty of members praise how well the door is run — but a December 2025 attendee reported trainers, T-shirts and patched jeans throughout the room. Enforcement appears to slip when the club is packed.
Inside: Three Floors, a Lot of Stairs
The interior genuinely earns the upscale billing — high ceilings, exposed brick, floor-to-ceiling curtains, considered lighting. Bathrooms are clean and on every floor, which more people mention than you’d expect.
The ground floor is the social heart: bar, dance floor, DJ, a pole that occasionally gets a guest performance, and a mezzanine terrace for people-watching. It’s meant to be the quieter spot for talking, though when the music is loud it isn’t much quieter.
The top floor holds the playrooms — private rooms with lockable doors, a curtained loft bed, themed rooms including a dark-academia study, and a large group room at the end of the corridor. The lighting is heavily red, which some find atmospheric and others find odd.
Basement is the dungeon: a St Andrew’s cross, a cage, swings, glory holes and BDSM equipment, plus bed alcoves for a degree of privacy. The lockers are down here too — which brings us to the complaint almost every reviewer makes: the stairs. Lockers in the basement, playrooms on the top floor, a lot of walking between them. If you’re in heels, bring flats.
Two last things: phones are collected at check-in, and there’s no food.
The Crowd
This is Le Boudoir’s strongest card. The crowd skews mid-20s to mid-50s with the bulk in their mid-30s — markedly younger than most lifestyle clubs, and a genuine surprise to visitors from the US.
It’s also, by near-universal agreement, an attractive and well-dressed room. But the reports that matter most are about behaviour: a friendly, non-pushy crowd where a polite no is respected, security that steps in when needed, and staff who check on people through the night.
The reservations are real too. Breaking into conversation isn’t always easy on a first visit, and the emphasis on conventional attractiveness means the room lacks diversity in body types and style.
The Good and the Not-So-Good

The pattern is clear: Le Boudoir is excellent on a good night and merely fine on a bad one. A quiet December week and a sold-out holiday party produce very different experiences from the same venue.
So, Is Le Boudoir Worth It?
If you’re a couple who likes dressing up and wants a central London night that feels sleek rather than seedy — yes. Book a Saturday, dress properly, arrive near opening, walk the whole building before you settle, and bring flats. Le Boudoir Club in London is undoubtedly a top UK swingers club and one that should be on every tourists bucket list. While it does cost for a membership, the crowd is electric and attractive and fun. It’s a swinger scene like no other.
The people who leave disappointed are usually those who expected the marketing to be a guarantee. Treat the vetting and dress code as what they are — a filter, not a promise about any particular night — and Le Boudoir is one of the best clubs in the UK.
