Family-run

Quest sits on Low Road in Hunslet, about two miles south of Leeds city centre, in a part of town made of car dealerships, trade counters and industrial units. It has been running since November 2001, when Jo and Dave turned the house parties they had been hosting since 1999 into a business. They opened weekends only, for around a hundred guests. Twenty-five years later the club runs six days a week, takes up to two hundred people on a busy night, and moved to its current premises roughly a decade ago after outgrowing the first one.

That history explains what Quest is. It feels more like a bar than a nightclub: a lounge, a snug, a pool table, a jacuzzi, and a social area where most of the evening actually happens. It is smaller than people expect, and for a lot of its regulars that is the appeal.

The confusing part is membership. Quest is a private members club that also runs a broad programme of events open to people who have never joined, and almost nobody explains which is which — so that comes first.

Membership, non-member nights and what it costs

Quest is a private members club: a card is required to enter, and joining costs around £5 for single ladies, £10 for couples and £25 for single men, charged on top of entry on your first visit. The club’s own working example for single men is £25 membership plus £25 afternoon entry, or plus £30 for an evening — £50 or £55 to get through the door the first time.

Joining needs two forms of ID, one government-issued photo ID and one showing your address, both in the same name. A passport plus a current utility bill or bank statement works; a photo driving licence showing your address counts as both. Digital copies are not accepted. Single-male memberships are capped, and the club states plainly that membership is not guaranteed for anyone and is never granted over the phone. Replacement cards cost £5. What the club does not publish anywhere is how long membership lasts — no annual renewal is stated and no lifetime term either, so ask when you call.

You may not need any of that. Tuesdays, Wednesday afternoons and Thursdays are listed as non-member days: bring photographic ID and walk in. Bi Tuesday says outright that membership is not required. Several Friday night parties and some Wednesday evenings publish two sets of prices, one for members and one for non-members, so non-members are welcome there too and pay roughly £5 a head more. The larger Friday parties may ask non-members to join a guest list in advance, arranged through the club or its FabSwingers profile.

Saturdays and Funday Sunday are the ambiguous ones, publishing a single flat price with no member and non-member split. If you have not joined and you want a weekend, ring ahead rather than turn up hopeful: 0113 271 3013, or 0781 828 2255 for membership.

One thing shifts the cost of a night here more than any of the above. Quest is bring-your-own — the club sells premium soft drinks and mixers, you bring the alcohol, and no corkage is advertised. Over a long session that is easily the biggest saving on offer, and worth a stop at a supermarket on the way. Lockers take a £5 refundable key deposit, and towels are provided.

The week at Quest

Day

What runs

Times

Couples

Single ladies

Single men

Monday

Closed

—

—

—

—

Tuesday

Bi Tuesday

11am–11pm

£15

£10

£25

Wednesday

Wednesday Afternoon Fun

11am–6pm

£15

£10

£25

Wednesday

Midweek Chill Night

7–11pm

£20

£10

£30

Thursday

T-Girls, CD’s & Admirers

11am–6pm

£15pp

£15pp

£15pp

Thursday

Evening event (rotates)

7–11pm

varies

varies

varies

Friday

Friday Afternoon Fun

11am–6pm

£15

£10

£25

Friday

Themed party night

8.30pm–2am

£30–35

£10–15

£30–35

Saturday

Party night

8.30pm–2am

£30–35

£10–15

£35 or excluded

Sunday

Funday Sunday

1–10pm

£15

£10

£30

Bi Tuesday runs weekly, open to bisexual couples, single men and single women. Eleven hours end to end, and the cheapest way into the club.

Wednesday splits in two. The afternoon is a straightforward couples-and-singles daytime session. The evening is Midweek Chill Night, and once a month it becomes Kinky Little M’s Happy Hump Wednesday, a promoter-run version with its own pricing and a trans and crossdressing tier at around £15 for members, £20 for non-members.

Thursday is the most varied day of the week. The afternoon is a T-Girls, CD’s and Admirers session at a flat £15 a head, weekly, with an all-day version once a month running 11am to 10pm. The evening rotates: Greedy Girls on the second Thursday, free for couples and single ladies and around £30 for single men; Midweek Kink and Fetish Night, £15 a head with a strict fetish dress code, informal demonstrations and an in-house Mistress on hand; Kinky Little M’s Sexy Siren Soirée, single ladies only at around £15; and occasional one-offs such as a £50 boudoir photoshoot night.

Friday also splits. The afternoon mirrors Wednesday’s. The evening is a themed party running to 2am, with the theme changing weekly — Ibiza Naughty Seduction, Quest Social, Curvy Cuties, Red Light Green Light. Budget around £30 for couples and £10 for single ladies as a member, £35 and £15 as a non-member, single men at the couples rate, trans guests £15 to £20.

Saturday needs reading carefully. On the second and fourth Saturday of the month the club hosts M&N Party Night, run by an outside promoter, which is couples and single ladies only — around £35 a couple, £15 for single ladies, single men not admitted, and two single men explicitly barred from attending together as a couple. Every other Saturday is Quest Party Night, open to everyone at around £30 a couple, £10 single ladies and £35 single men, and usually themed. There is a pyjama party in September and a Halloween party on 31 October.

Funday Sunday runs every week, 1pm to 10pm, at around £15 a couple, £10 for single ladies and £30 for single men. It is the least publicised slot on the calendar and probably the best: a long, unhurried afternoon session with the bar, the playrooms and the jacuzzi all in use, and a noticeably calmer atmosphere than the late nights.

Getting in

Quest is 18+ with no upper age limit, and photographic ID is checked every visit, not only when you join.

Single men get the least generous deal, as at most clubs: the highest price at every event, and the second and fourth Saturdays closed to them entirely. This is also the club’s most-criticised area, and the complaint is consistent — on mixed nights the ratio can tip badly, with groups of single men trailing couples between the playrooms. It is the most common reason regulars steer newcomers towards the couples-and-single-ladies Saturdays or a quieter afternoon.

Trans and crossdressing guests are treated better here than at most UK clubs, and it is worth being specific about why. There is a T-Girls, CD’s and Admirers session every Thursday afternoon and an all-day version monthly. Party listings carry a trans price tier that sits below the single-male rate rather than lumping trans guests in with single men. The club describes itself as an LGBTQ+ Safe Zone, names non-binary and gender-fluid guests explicitly in its inclusivity policy, and has run bisexual and LGBTQ+ events for years. To see how unusual that is, read how UK clubs usually sort everyone into three boxes.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. Guests with disabilities are welcome provided they can communicate independently and do not require personal care from staff.

There is a strict no-phones policy throughout: phones, tablets, cameras and camera smartwatches off and out of sight anywhere in the building, with immediate removal for anyone using one.

No last-entry time is published. If you are running late for a weekend party, call.

Dress code

Smart casual is the baseline — no tracksuits, no hats, no caps — and street clothing is not permitted in the play or wet areas. Individual events set their own codes, and the fetish night asks for rubber, leather, PVC or latex and means it.

In practice the standard is relaxed rather than strict. Men are not expected to do more than smart casual, women wear whatever they are comfortable in, and dressing down is normal later in the evening but never obligatory.

Inside

The social side comes first: a large lounge, a smaller snug with intimate seating, a pool table, entertainment screens and the soft-drinks bar. Then the wellness area — jacuzzi, traditional sauna, showers, separate changing suites for men and women, complimentary towels, and you are welcome to bring a robe.

The play spaces are two private lockable rooms, a lockable viewing room, a dark room, a medium playroom, a large couples-only playroom, an extra-large playroom and a fully equipped dungeon. Beyond the official list there are glory holes, grope boxes, a swing room, an orgy room, a cinema room and an outdoor area.

Cleanliness is the club’s most consistent strength, and it is not accidental: wipes and sprays are stocked throughout and guests are expected to use them. The recurring gripe about the layout is that only two of the rooms are fully private, and that on quieter nights some spaces sit unused while those two are occupied.

Parking is free, on site, floodlit and covered by CCTV.

Quest Swingers Club in Leeds, interior source: dailystar.co.uk

The crowd

Older than newcomers expect, and friendlier than the scene’s reputation suggests. There is no upper age limit and no appetite for one; a fair share of the regulars are past fifty and the club is comfortable with that.

Staff are the most praised thing about Quest by a wide margin. Newcomers are given a tour of the venue and a run-through of the rules on arrival, which is more than most clubs bother with and the reason first-timers tend to settle quickly.

The honest reservations: quieter nights can feel cliquey, attendance swings with the weather and whatever is on television, and Quest is small — a virtue when it is two-thirds full, a problem when it isn’t.

If it’s your first time

Go on a Sunday afternoon, or a Bi Tuesday if you would rather not join first. It is not the biggest venue in Leeds and does not pretend to be. What it offers instead is a bar you can talk in, a jacuzzi people use, staff who take newcomers in hand, and a calendar with more variety than clubs three times its size — a bi day, a fetish night, a weekly trans and crossdressing afternoon, couples-only Saturdays and an underrated Sunday session.

The reservations are the ones you would expect from a small club with an open door: the single-male balance goes wrong on mixed nights, and a slow evening in a small room is a slow evening. Both are avoidable if you pick your day. Take two forms of ID and a bottle, and Quest is one of the easier and cheaper introductions to the scene in the north of England.

Prices, times and policies verified September 2026.
